Acting Our Age created Surprise Boxes in response to restrictions to our in-person work brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Developed as an engagement tool to be shared by a caregiver and a single recipient, our Surprise Boxes use a theme to explore Storytelling, Arts & Crafts, Music & Dance and Sensory engagement. Each box might include photographs/images, letters/postcards, intriguing sensory objects, poems or stories to share, and elements for a simple craft project. Additionally we provide a caregiver instruction card with prompts and links to music and video playlists. Click below to explore the contents of each Surprise Box.
We are pleased to offer our Surprise Boxes to residents of the Schulman and Schachne Institute and the Cobble Hill Health Center, and to clients of the Heights and Hills Friendly Visiting and Caregiver programs.
